The influences of the ethnicity that make up the island the Dominican Republic is 16% of the country is made up of the race is white, referring to the Spanish heritage but also includes American, British, and French. The 11% of the island includes black from the Haiti.

More than 90% makes up the Roman Catholicism in the Dominican Republic and this religion was established by the Concordat with the Vatican. The practice of the religion was limited and formalistic but some of the people went to attend the Mass regularly. Most of the Dominicans viewed the Roman Catholic clergy with ambivalence.
In the Dominican Republic the language spoken throughout the island is mostly Spanish and the writing system is the Spanish alphabet. The Spanish spoken in the Caribbean is more of a fast past and relaxed than the regular Latin American Spanish. As in the Dominican Republic the islanders say words more fast and loose their 's' sounds, it is more less than any other Spanish dialect.
